Prof. Dr. Stefan Pickl und Dr.-Ing. Cornelius Hardt, Institut für Theoretische Informatik, Mathematik und Operations Research an der Fakultät für Informatik haben mit den mit dem Forschungsinstitut CODE das Projekt "AISHA - AI Skills Hub Academy"  bei der Europäischen Kommission (EC) eingeworben.

Laufzeit: 01.05.2026 - 30.04.2030

Förderung: Europäischen Kommission (EC), HE

AISHA is a pan-European initiative designed to tackle the profound challenges posed by rapid AI advancements, which are decoupling tasks from traditional occupations and weakening apprenticeship-based learning frameworks. Its key aim is to deliver modular GenAI literacy across technical, managerial, and policy-ethical domains, equipping both private and public sector organizations to integrate AI solutions responsibly while mitigating risks such as deskilling, automation bias, and the erosion of autonomy and sovereignty. Through a holistic curriculum, sectoral pilots, and extensive engagement actions, AISHA directly addresses acute European priorities: overcoming AI-related skill shortages, fragmentation of credentials, risk of workforce deskilling, underrepresentation of women, and limited GenAI adoption capacity among SMEs and public sector bodies.
AISHA lays the foundations for a EU Knowledge Hub and Centre of Excellence for AI education and skills, designed in coordination with the EC's AI Office and aligned with the forthcoming Apply AI Strategy which aims to position Europe as a global leader in AI, enabling cross-sector integration in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, agri-food, security, and other strategic domains.

AISHA delivers evidence-based accredited curricula, large-scale apprenticeships, sector labs, and EU-aligned accreditation pilots, with robust monitoring via SMART indicators and routine reporting. Synergies leverage existing networks such as AI4Gov-X, AI-SECRETT, European Universities Alliances, Pact for Skills, and EIT Community AI, maximizing scale-up and knowledge transfer. The governance model, rolling planning, and live KPI dashboard ensure high-quality, sector-aware delivery and sustainability post-grant through EUwide partnerships and co-funding arrangements.

Ultimately, AISHA contributes to EU digital sovereignty, fostering productivity, improved public services, and inclusive access to GenAI careers for underrepresented groups.
