UIST School 2018

1 November 2018

In the context of UIST 2018 in Berlin we organized the first UIST School (Topic: Moving Interaction Closer To The Body: Physiology And Beyond) at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute in Potsdam. Participants were introduced to topics evolving around physiological interaction. Apart from introductory lectures, participants worked on group projects in the context of a 24h hackathon, organized by gTec. Outcomes of the hackathon were presented by participants at the welcome reception on the eve of UIST 2018.

The UIST School featured a great line-up of outstanding academics from HCI, including Hiroshi Ishii (MIT Media Lab), Kristina Höök (KTH Stockholm), Elisabeth Andre (University of Augsburg), Albrecht Schmidt (LMU Munich), and Pedro Lopez (University of Chicago) as well as from Neuroscience (Lewis Chuang, LMU Munich and Sarah Blum, University of Oldenburg).

The UIST School was organized by Prof. Dr. Florian Alt and M.Sc. Rivu Radiah from the Usable Security and Privacy Group.
