Extracurricular Language Program

Language courses for everyone – staff and students

Our wide range of voluntary, fee-based further language training courses are offered to all university staff and students.
The courses are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) which enables a standardised grading of language skills and helps you to select the appropriate course.

Language courses offered during the summer break 2026:

German as a foreign language | English | French | Italian | Japanese | Russian

SLP examinations cannot be held as part of these courses. Where there is a work-related need, SLP examinations in these and other languages may be taken at the Federal Language Office upon application.

Courses tailored to your needs

If required, and provided there is sufficient interest in a language at a particular level, further languages may also be added to the program.
Provided there are enough participants, it is also possible to develop course programs tailored specifically to your needs, e.g. ‘Office Communication’ for staff in administrative offices or secretariats. We would be happy to hear your suggestions and requests.
