ZONTA Club: Award for Maren Hülsmann

Maren Hülsmann from the Institute of Space Technology and Space Applications was awarded the Amelia Earhart Club Prize of ZONTA Club Munich I for her doctorate in the field of artificial intelligence aboard spacecraft. The award ceremony took place at the monthly ZONTA club evening on 18 October, where the award winner gave a short talk on "Artificial Intelligence in Spaceflight – How AI can ensure safety in space". In her research, Maren Hülsmann investigates methods for increasing autonomy on board satellites and for detection and avoidance of errors in the context of (very) large satellite constellations and formations.
