From May 21 to 24, 2025, the 20th congress of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP) took place in Prague, where Susanne Beyerlein and Stefanie Acksteiner presented their latest research findings.
Stefanie Acksteiner presented her research on paradoxes in leadership and the development of a paradox mindset among female leaders, particularly in male-dominated fields. Her work addresses how female leaders cope with the contradictory demands placed upon them and which cognitive strategies they develop to successfully navigate these paradoxes.
As part of a symposium, Susanne Beyerlein presented her research on health-oriented leadership. Together with Annika Krick, Jörg Felfe, and Hendrik Hüttermann, she examined the transfer effects of health-oriented leadership on managers in sandwich positions. The focus lies on both the underlying mechanisms—such as health-oriented self-leadership—and the organizational conditions that may facilitate or hinder these transfer processes.
