Sebastian Brandstäter and Martin Frank contribute to ICCB 2025

23 September 2025

IMCS members Sebastian Brandstäter and Martin Frank showcased their research at the XI International Conference on Computational Bioengineering (ICCB 2025), held from September 8–10 at the Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, Italy.

Sebastian delivered a keynote lecture entitled "Multi-query analysis of electromechanical stomach models enhances understanding of biophysical function," demonstrating how multi-query analysis methods can provide deeper insights into computational models. He also co-organised the minisymposium “Modeling and experimental methods for smooth muscle organs” together with international collaborators Leo Cheng (University of Auckland, New Zealand), Javier Garcia-Casado (Universitat Politècnica de Valencia, Spain), Christian J. Cyron (TUHH & Hereon, Germany).

Martin contributed to the minisymposiumItalo-German Meeting on In-Silico Medicine: Common Problems and Latest Advancements with a presentation on "Computational Placement of Flow Diverters for Cerebral Aneurysms". He presented a computational approach for the optimal placement of flow diverters in cerebral aneurysms and illustrated his findings on patient-specific cases.

The conference provided an excellent platform for scientific exchange and stimulating discussions within the international biomedical engineering community. We thank the ICCB 2025 organizers for hosting such an inspiring event.
