Publication of the Symposium 2025 Report

13 November 2025

This year, the Symposium on Crisis Early Warning took place in Berlin for the first time. The two-day event on September 17 and 18, 2025, with the theme “The Potential of Data, AI & Interdisciplinary Analysis in Situational Awareness and Decision Making”, was organized in cooperation with the German Federal Foreign Office. Through this collaboration, the symposium attracted new participants and institutions, significantly broadening its reach and diversifying its audience.

The Symposium alternated between research presentations and political panel discussions. In addition, there were seminars that fostered exchange within smaller, interdisciplinary groups.

The report summarizes the Symposium 2025. It provides an overview of the topics presented in the research panels and discussed in the seminars. It outlines the most important findings and possible areas for improvement based on feedback.
