Welcome!

The Center for Intelligence and Security (CISS) at the Bundeswehr University Munich is the place for all those interested in analyzing and discussing the complex security policy challenges of the 21st century in Germany and the world.

We develop well-founded, independent and forward-looking analyses in order to develop sustainable strategies for solving security policy and intelligence-relevant issues. We combine interdisciplinary basic research with teaching and the transfer of knowledge to politics and society. Our work focuses on the areas of security and intelligence, AI-based early crisis detection, wargaming and economic protection.

As a platform, the CISS also makes an active contribution to the global networking of the most important players in the security sector.
