Participation at the PRIO's AI Days in Oslo

From October 25 to 26, the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) organized a series of seminars addressing the impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on various domains, including modern warfare and national perspectives on global AI governance. In the panel "AI on Conflict and Early Warning," Sonja Häffner presented various methods illustrating how text data can be integrated in crisis early warning models. The presented results stem from several research projects conducted in collaboration with Julian Walterskirchen at the Center for Crisis Early Warning. The highlight of the PRIO AI Days was the panel talk by Jared Cohen, the President of Global Affairs and Co-head of Applied Innovation at Goldman Sachs, and former CEO of Jigsaw (formerly Google Ideas). Cohen shed light on the effects of AI on geopolitical power dynamics.
