Participation in the German Data Science Days 2025

7 March 2025

Researchers from the Center for Crisis Early Warning participated in the German Data Science Days 2025.
The German Data Science Days, organized by LMU Munich and the German Data Science Society, provide a platform for participants from industry, business, academia, and the public sector to exchange ideas on the theory and application of data-driven methods.
The event took place for the eighth time at LMU Munich.

As part of the diverse presentations covering topics from areas such as business and industry, energy and sustainability, and the public sector, Stephanie Riedl and David Spitzenberg gained insights into pioneering methods and techniques beyond the field of crisis early warning.
Additionally, insights into the work of other researchers and institutes in the realm of conflict research were provided during the session on conflict and peace studies, which featured presentations by Daniel Racek (LMU Munich) and Dr. Stefan Taing (Munich Innovation Labs).
Beyond the presentations, the participants took the opportunity to establish valuable connections with scientists and practitioners from the data science community.

Participation in the German Data Science Days 2025 reflects the ongoing effort to gain new impulses for crisis early warning through interdisciplinary exchange and to incorporate these impulses into the Center's own (research) work.
