Historie und Expertise

Innerhalb des Instituts „Space Technology and Space Applications (ISTA)“ wird der Bereich Navigation von Prof. Pany geleitet. Forschung und Lehre umfassen folgende Themen: globale Satellitennavigationssysteme, präzise Positionierung, inertiale Navigation, terrestrische Funknavigation sowie das gezielte Stören und Täuschen von Navigationssignalen. Das Institut existiert seit 1983 und leistet bedeutende Beiträge zum europäischen System Galileo. Der Munich Satellite Navigation Summit, die NAVITEC-Konferenz (ESA/IEEE) sowie die IEEE/ION-PLANS-Konferenz werden vom Institut mitorganisiert.

History and expertise

Within the Institute of Space Technology and Space Applications (ISTA), the Navigation department is headed by Prof. Pany. Research and teaching cover the following topics: global satellite navigation systems, precise positioning, inertial navigation, terrestrial radio navigation and the targeted jamming and deception of navigation signals. The institute has been in existence since 1983 and makes significant contributions to the European Galileo System. The Munich Satellite Navigation Summit, the NAVITEC conference (ESA/IEEE) and the IEEE/ION-PLANS conference are co-organized by the institute.
