22 September 2025
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Josef Kiendl and Dr.-Ing. Alessia Patton participated on behalf of our institute in the 13th International Conference on Isogeometric Analysis (IGA2025) in Eindhoven, Netherlands, from September 14 to 17, 2025. Prof. Kiendl is also a member of the conference's Scientific Committee.
The venue was the prestigious DOMUSDELA complex in the heart of Eindhoven. This cultural and congress center was created through the renovation of the historic Mariënhage Monastery, a monumental building of the Augustinian order and one of Eindhoven's oldest buildings.
During the conference Dr. Patton provided a presentation entitled "An Isogeometric Assumed Natural Strain Method to Alleviate Locking in Solid Beams"
Prof. Kiendl gave the lecture "A Wrinkling Model Based on the Spectral Decomposition of the Stress Tensor and the Mixed Wrinkling Criterion".
In addition, he organized and led the highly successful mini-symposium "IGA for thin structures" together with his colleagues Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bastian Oesterle from the Hamburg University of Technology, Dr.ir. H.M. Hugo Verhelst from the University of Florence, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Dornisch from the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau.
