Drones are taking on more and more tasks in our world, from the media industry to agriculture. Here, the use as a means of transport, for the mail order trade or as military troop support, is especially in the focus. In order to make this mission safe and predictable, it is important to determine the accuracy of drones in conjunction with a drop device. We use a RTK-supported DJI Matrice 600 Pro, which autonomously flies to the target via navigation software.
The drop device in mounted at the bottom of the drone, on a designed platform and is manually operated. For this experiment, the attached load is dropped at given height to specified coordinates and the difference between envisaged target and the true position is measured by a further RTK-receiver.
The aim is to determine the position accuracy and providing an error analysis, to further development in this topic.
