DfX 2025 in Hamburg

16 März 2026

The 36th DfX Symposium took place in Hamburg on September 11 and 12, 2025. Leonhard Kessler and Prof. Alexander Koch were able to attend the event and successfully represent the ITPE.

Leonhard presented his work titled “Comparative Analysis of Digital Twin Implementations – Identifying Cross-Disciplinary Knowledge Transfer Potentials for Space Systems”.  As part of his research clarification, he conducted a systematic literature review to determine which knowledge regarding digital twins from product development is transferable to the space sector—with the result that 70% of the identified approaches exhibit high to moderate transfer potential. In the subsequent discussion, space-specific challenges were highlighted, and new research directions were jointly explored.

The event was superbly organized by the team at the Institute for Product Development and Design Engineering (PKT) at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH). The supporting program, which included a boat tour on the Elbe and the obligatory visit to the Reeperbahn, contributed to an all-around successful symposium.

We would like to express our gratitude for the successful event and look forward to future editions of the DfX Symposium.
