Exchange Studies and Research for International Students and Scholars

UniBwM was founded in 1973 with the aim of providing officers and officer candidates with a thorough university-level education that would also prepare them for civilian careers. After all, most regular soldiers leave the Bundeswehr after 13 years. Thus at present it is only possible for members of the armed services in friendly nations to complete a study program at our university, and this must take place in the framework of a scholarship or grant.

On the basis of bilateral cooperation agreements, it is possible for civilians from foreign countries to complete a portion of their studies at the Universität der Bundeswehr München. Currently, we offer foreign students the opportunity to stay for up to 12 months.

The International Office provides counseling to all exchange students and visiting scholars from abroad, who would like to study or carry out research at our university.

In addition to assist with all of the necessary administrative preparation, the International Office also manages the Buddy Program and helps finding German language courses.
