Why Erasmus+?
Europe must equip its citizens with the education, skills and creativity that they need in a knowledge society. The world is changing fast, and education systems need to modernise and adapt to new ways of teaching and learning and embrace the new opportunities that exist. Education, training and non-formal youth learning are key to creating jobs and improving Europe's competitiveness. That's why Erasmus+ will make a key contribution to addressing these challenges.
Who will benefit?
More than 4 million young people, students and adults will gain experience and skills by studying, training or volunteering abroad through Erasmus+. The program will also support over 125,000 institutions and organisations to work with peers in other countries to innovate and modernise teaching practice and youth work. Together they will help ensure that young people and adults get the skills they need to succeed in today's world. Erasmus+ replaces seven programs with one, so it's easier to access. And changes in the rules mean it has never been simpler to apply.

Erasmus Charta for Higher Education
The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) provides the general quality framework for European and international cooperation activities a higher education institution may carry out within Erasmus+. The award of an ECHE is a pre-requisite for all higher education institutions located in a Programme country and willing to participate in learning mobility of individuals and/or cooperation for innovation and good practices under Erasmus+.
Erasmus Policy Statement
Within the framework of the Erasmus program, UniBw M intends to further network and deepen its relations with European partner universities and selected non-European universities in partner countries with which we already conduct exchanges and joint projects within KA 107.
UniBw M expects to further expand collaborations in selected key regions that are also of particular technical interest and also correspond to UniBw M's existing research priorities.
The regions of special interest outside Europe are essential for the development of new study programs, e.g. for the new study program "Cultural Studies" with its special focus on the Islamic world and as well as the field of Conflict and Peacebuilding Studies.
Particularly in the development of relations with universities in the southern Mediterranean region (which in some cases have only limited funding and travel funds at their disposal), the joint Erasmus KA 107 projects are enormously important for maintaining relations, initiating academic exchanges and developing joint student and teacher exchanges, as well as for contributing specialist and regional and intercultural expertise.
With the help of the Erasmus program, UniBw M plans to further cement and deepen its relationships with long-standing European Erasmus partners. The cooperation with selected partners is intended to specifically expand and complement the own teaching offer. The cooperation with selected partners should also particularly support the own range of courses for the promotion of key and intercultural competences.
New degree programs address the needs of government agencies and regional employers, notable among these are Cyber Defense, Security and Intelligence Studies, and Defense Technology.
Various study programs promote a further opening of the university and enable applicants without prior academic training to take up demand-oriented studies. Alternative teaching formats, the increased use of digital courses, and blended learning are to be used in the preparation of both the university's own students and international students. Aerospace Engineering, for example, has established a research cluster that is interconnected both regionally and internationally and offers PhD training together with European and non-European partner institutions. This increasingly involves digital teaching options, in which all participating partner institutions participate.
Participation in the Erasmus program and taking advantage of the opportunities offered by Erasmus without Paper and the Digital Tools for Student Administration and the Electronic Student Card are an important impetus for further digitalization in university administration and various internal processes that are already in preparation.
