From May 8 to 9, Thomas Apel and Katharina Lorenz visited Salzburg to take part in the Austrian Numerical Analysis Day 2025—naturally contributing to the program themselves.
Thomas Apel gave a talk on Discretization of the Stokes Problem with Non-Homogeneous Dirichlet Boundary Conditions. Part 1: Weak Solutions.
Following his presentation, Katharina Lorenz presented the second part of the topic: Discretization of the Stokes Problem with Non-Homogeneous Dirichlet Boundary Conditions. Part 2: Very Weak Solutions.
Lively discussions followed the talks, during which many valuable suggestions and new ideas were exchanged.
A particular highlight of the event was the conference dinner at the restaurant Sternbräu, where participants enjoyed traditional Austrian cuisine.
In addition to the scientific program, the historic old town of Salzburg and the impressive backdrop of the Alps provided a special setting for the event.
Sincere thanks go to the organizers of this successful event!
