Applied mathematics colloquium lecture by Tabea Tscherpel

26 November 2024

As part of the Colloquium for Applied Mathematics, organized by Professors Apel, Gerdts and Klein, Prof. Dr. Tabea Tscherpel from the Technical University of Darmstadt gave a lecture on “Sobolev stability of the L^2-projection” on November 25, 2024. She presented the latest findings on the L^2 projection in Lagrange finite element space and highlighted its stability, with a particular focus on its stability in the context of adaptively refined meshes.

The subsequent discussion and Q&A session provided ample opportunity for a lively scientific exchange. Prof. Tscherpel took a lot of time to answer the questions of the interested audience in detail and thus encouraged a stimulating dialog. The evening came to a successful conclusion with an excellent Indian dinner in a small group.

We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Tabea Tscherpel for her enriching contribution to the colloquium.
