IMCS at the Metamaterial Summer School in Nantes

From October 13 to October 18, 2025, Moritz Frey from IMCS participated in the international Summer School “Multi-Scale Approaches for Architectured and Microstructured Materials and Metamaterials” at École Centrale de Nantes in France.
Over six days, the event brought together leading researchers from the fields of materials science, mechanics, and metamaterials. Under the scientific direction of Prof. Angela Madeo (TU Dortmund) and Prof. Jean-François Ganghoffer (Université de Lorraine), topics such as multiscale modeling, homogenization, and the design of architectured materials were explored in depth.
The participation provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with experts and early-career researchers from across Europe. The lectures and discussions presented current research approaches that offered valuable insights for ongoing scientific work.
In addition to the engaging scientific program, the Summer School also offered numerous opportunities for personal exchange in the inspiring atmosphere of the historic city of Nantes.
