Crashmatic for Testing Lateral Assistance Systems

One way to examine the behavior of lateral assistance systems is the Crashmatic, which was developed here at the Institute. Activated by light barriers, a dummy vehicle hidden behind another vehicle parked on the side of the road can suddenly be pushed into the driver’s path. For safety reasons, the dummies are made of a foam material and can fold back in case of collision.
