Human-Vehicle Interaction

Human-vehicle interaction occurs via display and control devices. The spectrum of displays includes optical as well as acoustic (sound signals, voice) and haptic displays (surface design, pressure, vibrations). They can be operated via controls but also via touchless gestural, visual or voice commands.

Although such technological progress provides greater convenience and entirely new conceptual options, it also bears risks for the driver, such as sensory overload and distraction from the main task of safe driving.
