At LABOR.A®: Introducing the HAIPro Lab

24 September 2026

Under the theme “HUMAN,” this year’s LABOR.A® explored how a fair, inclusive, and human-centered world of work can be shaped for the future. Organized by the Hans Böckler Foundation, the hybrid conference brought together participants from academia and practice.

Our doctoral researchers Samuel Kühnel and Immanuel Klein attended the conference and presented the approach developed by the Human-centered AI and Process Management Lab (HAIPro Lab).

In their contribution, “Human-Centered, AI-Assisted Process Modeling: Making Work Knowledge Visible,” they demonstrated how employees can describe and jointly reflect on their day-to-day work in everyday language, while artificial intelligence structures the discussion and translates it into standardized BPMN process models. In this way, existing work and process knowledge can be made visible and accessible for collaborative use.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to present our research on human-centered AI and collaborative process design to a diverse audience from academia and practice, gain new perspectives on the future of work, and exchange ideas with experts from a range of disciplines.
