Lukas Grundsfeld has been a postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of International Relations since April 2026. Prior to joining the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, from 2022 to 2026, he served as a doctoral researcher in the DFG-funded research project “The Withdrawal of States from Regional Organizations: A Comparative Analysis” at the University of Freiburg and Free University Berlin. In his dissertation project, Lukas Grundsfeld examined suspensions of states by regional organizations under conditions of regime complexity. He studied political science and history (BA) as well as peace studies and international politics (MA) at the Universities of Tübingen and Groningen. During his studies, Lukas Grundsfeld worked as a tutor and research assistant at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Tübingen, including in the BMBF-funded research project “Solidarity through Security? Discourses, Interactions and Practices of European Solidarity in the Field of Security”
