Description of the Dataset

In our online survey, we collected qualitative data evolving around the following topics:

• Situations in which users wished for a smart home device or feature
• Details about this situation (including potential bystanders, location, and time)
• Workarounds
• Details about the desired device/feature (including purpose, usage frequency, and potential sharing)
• Users' living situation and affinity for technology (for further evaluation of the scenarios and described devices)
