1. Log in to Lucom with your username and password. You can find a description of the procedure in the online portal and the application process here (please note that this document is currently only available in German) or in the university's internal wiki. Please remember to submit the necessary documents (certificate “Good Scientific Practice in Doctoral Studies“ and the confirmation of acceptance of your contribution) together with your application.
  2. Once your application has been approved, you will be asked to file a travel grant application with the note "PhD travel fund". Should your trip exceed the rates of the PhD travel fund, the difference can be paid up to 100 % from overhead or remaining funds. Please send the travel grant application together with the approved application to the travel office ZV II.3.
  3. Please note that for European countries as well as for the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, you will need to apply for an A1 certificate from your personnel office.
  4. A travel report must be prepared after the trip and submitted digitally 6 weeks after the trip at the latest to the supervisor of the PhD travel fund. You will find the template for this under "Required  documents".
  5. The travel expense accounting happens exclusively via the travel office ZV II.3 and can only take place if the travel report has been submitted and accepted in due time.

Paper applications will no longer be accepted. Applications can only be submitted via Lucom.

Please note that no confirmation of receipt of the application will be sent. Furthermore, no information can be given about the current status of the procedure. Please refrain from this form of enquiry.
