Third FORTRESS Project Meeting in Bordeaux
17 June 2026
On 17–18 June 2026, the FORTRESS consortium held its third official project meeting at our project partner eShard in Bordeaux, France.
FORTRESS is funded by the European Union (Grant Agreement No. 101225722) and brings together leading academic and industrial partners with the common goal of developing a next-generation Hardware Root of Trust (HW RoT) capable of addressing future security challenges, particularly those posed by the advent of quantum computing.
During the two-day plenary meeting, the project partners exchanged updates on the current status of their work and aligned on the upcoming technical and organizational milestones. The discussions focused on the integration and demonstration of end-to-end connectivity enabled by Hardware Root of Trust technologies, progress on testing and validation frameworks, and strategies for ensuring reliable and reproducible evaluation results.
In addition, the consortium discussed dissemination and communication activities as well as engagement with relevant stakeholders to further increase the visibility and long-term impact of the project. Another important topic was the collaborative review of project risks, mitigation strategies, and the planning of the upcoming project phases.
The meeting once again provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaboration among the project partners and reinforce our shared vision of building secure, trustworthy, and resilient digital infrastructures for Europe.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to our project partner eShard for the excellent organization of the meeting and for their warm hospitality in the beautiful city of Bordeaux.
