New article "China and Taiwan: What the conflict over Taiwan is about"

The conflict between China and Taiwan has been smouldering for decades, as the People's Republic lays claim to the democratic island republic east of China. In recent months, the situation has become increasingly tense. PD Dr. habil. May-Britt Stumbaum is Team Lead Asia Pacific Security at the Center for Intelligence and Security Studies (CISS) at the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich and classifies the background and current developments in the China-Taiwan conflict.
