Concrete and energy can be viewed from a variety of angles. The grey energy of concrete has already been examined in detail at the Graz Concrete Colloquium 2014 under the theme "Sustainable construction with concrete". But what about energy and concrete in general? This year, experts will talk about a wide variety of concrete applications for generating, transporting or storing energy. Concrete can now also be used sensibly as an insulating material in facades.

Another focus is the revitalization of concrete structures. Is it worth preserving a building or would it be better to build a new one right away? In addition to constructive questions and solutions, benefits and cost-effectiveness are also considered here.

The third thematic block is devoted to the production of concrete; the process from mixing to paving, with the latter focusing on shotcrete. And of course there are still the traditional thematic blocks on current research activities and innovations as well as on new regulations and their introduction. Due to the broad popularity in the past years, this year there is also the opportunity for doctoral students who are intensively dealing with current questions on the subject of concrete to publish their research projects and results in the form of a scientific article in the conference proceedings and a poster presentation on site.
