Current Research

This working group's research and teaching deals with various forms of physical and psychological insecurity and their consequences for social order during and after violent conflict. In particular, current research projects deal with genocide and mass violence, perpetrators and victims of this violence, as well as with the politics of remembering violence. In particular, dynamics during violence, as well as on their consequences for post-violence societies and the politics of memory within these are especially interesting. The research projects at the working group are empirically driven and designed in a comparative manner.

In a current participatory action research project, DiREKt-Roma, life history and thematic interviews will be used to analyse experiences of discrimination and resilience of Roma.

The professorship is also involved with the project SPARTA.
