Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has become indispensable in research and industrial applications of flow processes. The goal of CFD is to approximate fluid mechanical problems using numerical methods. Focus of the institute for Numerical Methods in Aerospace engineering (NML) is the development of efficient, time resolved numerical methods as well as physical closure models for turbulent flow predictions. This includes complex flow phenomena like multiphase flow, reactive flow, aerodynamic flows, supersonic flows, gas explosions and others. Besides academic configurations current state engineering problems are considered.
