Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has become indispensable in research and industrial applications of flow processes. The goal of CFD is to approximate fluid mechanical problems using numerical methods. Focus of the institute for Numerical Methods in Aerospace engineering (NML) is the development of efficient, time resolved numerical methods as well as physical closure models for turbulent flow predictions. This includes complex flow phenomena, like flow in porous media, multiphase flow, reactive flow and fluid-structure interaction. Besides academic configurations current state engineering problems are considered.
