Successful completion of the first two bachelor theses at IMCS

On Tuesday, 22 January 2019, the results of the first two bachelor theses submitted since the institute was renamed IMCS were presented at an institute seminar. The two Civil Engineering students Viet Anh Dao and Christoph Ritzert have written two excellent bachelor theses under the supervision of the research assistants in Prof. Popp's research group. Mr. Dao presented the most important aspects of his work on the topic "Modelling of beam-to-solid interactions with the finite element method", and Mr. Ritzert (photo) followed with a lecture on his bachelor thesis "Determination of critical time step sizes in structural simulations". Congratulations to both of them on this excellent achievement!

The Institute for Mathematics and Computer-Aided Simulation (IMCS) once again participated in the annual conference "FE in the Snow," held in the beautiful Kleinwalsertal.
