CSE Colloquium Talk by Karsten Urban
4 Februar 2025
On February 3, 2025, the first lecture of the new year took place in the Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) research colloquium organized by Professors Apel, Brünig, Kiendl and Popp. Prof. Dr. Karsten Urban from the Institute of Numerical Mathematics at Ulm university gave a detailed overview on the topic of "Model reduction for PDEs – Benefits, chances, limitations and challenges". The fact that the speaker was perfectly attuned to the audience was particularly well received. The accompanying discussion and Q&A session confirmed the great interest shown by the audience in the exciting presentation. After the talk, the audience met with Prof Urban, who had been invited to the IMCS by Prof Apel, in a local restaurant for a convivial chat.
The CSE Colloquium takes place regularly. An invitation to the next talk in the CSE research colloquium will be sent in advance by e-mail. Anyone who would like to be added to the mailing list can contact Philipp Zilk via e-mail: philipp.zilk@unibw.de. Interested parties from outside the UniBw Munich are also very welcome.
