Dr. Alexander Mayer

Alexander Mayer is a lecturer in modern and contemporary history. Currently he is working on the history of meritocracy and social mobility in the 19th and 20th centuries. Alexander Mayer‘s research interests also include the history of universities, knowledge society, and National Socialism. His PhD thesis deals with competition among universities since the 1980s. He has studied history, philosophy and German literature at LMU Munich and at Université de Perpignan (France).
