Commitment to equality and equal opportunities honored

For their many years of commitment to the holiday workshop program, Dr. Siegfried Brunner and Ulrike Nussel received this year's Diversity Honorary Award from the University of the Bundeswehr Munich.

With the honorary award, the Advisory Board for Equal Opportunities and Diversity recognizes outstanding commitment to diversity, equality, and equal opportunities at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich. Brunner and Nussel have been actively involved for years, conducting the holiday workshop "Build Your Own Smart House" at the Research Institute CODE. This workshop for girls aged 10 to 14 has been held at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich since 2022 as part of the "Strong Girls in STEM" initiative and inspires young participants with a playful approach to technology each year. The award was presented by the Vice President for Internationalization and Diversity, Professor Dr. Isabelle Deflers, at the Dies Academicus on October 24.
