Luisa Jooß holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in International Politics, Peace and Conflict Studies from the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen.
During her studies, she specialised in German and European security and defence policy, international law, and the analysis of armed conflicts, with a particular focus on Syria, Libya, and Ukraine. Her academic work examined the implications of geopolitical transformations for European security and defence policy, particularly in the context of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Alongside her studies, Luisa Jooß gained experience in an international and governmental environment, including positions at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations in New York.
Following the completion of her studies, Luisa Jooß worked, among other roles, at the office of a Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior and in the field of public affairs and association management, with a particular focus on education policy.
Since November 2023, Luisa Jooß has been working as Scientific Advisor to Professor Masala and as a Researcher at CISS.
Her research and professional interests focus on geoeconomics, global supply chains, strategic chokepoints, and strategic resilience in the context of an evolving international and security order.
