State Legislators from Bündnis 90/Die Grünen visit IWB

On July 13, 2026, Claudia Köhler, Member of the Bavarian State Parliament (MdL) and budget policy spokesperson for Bündnis 90/Die Grünen in the Bavarian State Parliament, and Dr. Markus Bühler, Member of the Bavarian State Parliament (MdL) and mobility spokesperson for Bündnis 90/Die Grünen in the Bavarian State Parliament, visited the Institute for Construction Materials. They learned about the work being done on the institute’s current research priorities. The scientific laboratory director, Dr.-Ing. Nancy Beuntner, and the institute director, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karl-Christian Thienel, explained to their guests, among other things, the use of calcined clays as low-carbon cement substitutes and the use of hemp bast fibers as reinforcing elements in ultra-lightweight concrete.
