All Advantages at a Glance
The University of the Bundeswehr Munich is one of the few campus universities in Germany. The 140-hectare campus offers a wide range of sports and leisure facilities. The campus fire department, the university church, various sports facilities and restaurants and not least the view of the Alps make this campus a very special workplace.
Working in a green environment
Our university is located on the outskirts of Munich in the municipality of Neubiberg. Using public transport from the city center, you can quickly reach us – in a green environment. Our campus is spacious and offers, in addition to lecture and seminar buildings, offices and work areas as well as student accommodation, a lot of greenery in a park-like facility. In good weather, there is a view of the Alps on top.
Fit & healthy
The university attaches great importance to the health of its staff and therefore offers them the opportunity to participate in various occupational health management activities free of charge and during working hours. There are yoga or pilates classes, stress management courses or lectures on nutrition, to name but a few examples. This is a good opportunity to interrupt work for a while and return to the workplace later with new energy. In addition, members of UniBw M have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of sporting activities offered on the university campus. For a small monthly fee, you can become a member of the sports promotion club and thus take advantage of the attractive university sports program. No matter whether you like to swim a few lanes in the new university swimming pool, have a game of tennis with your colleague during lunch break or prefer to relax in the sauna after work – these and other offers are open to you.
Food and refreshments
As a university employee, you can take advantage of the inexpensive meals offered by the cafeteria. In addition, the Brandl and UniCasino restaurants offer other delicious alternatives in a cozy atmosphere. But it is not only at lunchtime that catering is provided for your physical well-being: Breakfast and dinner are also offered by the catering facilities on campus.
Parlez-vous français?
The university's language center offers university employees the opportunity to brush up their existing language skills or to learn a new foreign language. In intensive courses, you can learn Japanese or Russian, for example, or you can take part in regular trimester courses, e.g. in French, Italian or English. If such advanced training is necessary for your work, the costs may be borne by your employer.
Specialist literature
Our university library offers you a large selection of specialist literature that you can use for your work. Of course, all other services such as electronic media, interlibrary lending, literature management training, search support and much more are also available to you.
And what do you do after work?
There are various groups and societies that offer you the opportunity to participate, from singing in the university band or choir through climbing to livesaving. New members are always welcome!
