Andechs Abbey (Kloster Andechs) is a Benedictine priory close to Munich, easily reachable by train and a short hike or bus ride. A place of pilgrimage on a hill east of the Ammersee, the Abbey is famous for its Baroque church and its brewery, Klosterbrauerei Andechs, whose income helps fund the monks' mission of help. You can enjoy a beer and something to eat in the abbey's biergarten.
