New publication on multi-scale modelling of rough surface contact

Have a look at our new paper "A multi-scale FEM-BEM formulation for contact mechanics between rough surfaces" in Springer's "Computational Mechanics" journal! This publication originated from a collaboration of IMCS with the MUSAM Lab (directed by Prof. Marco Paggi, IMT Lucca). A key factor in this research effort is the exchange of PhD students. In that spirit, we are currently hosting Ing. Jacopo Bonari (MUSAM Lab, IMT Lucca) for an extended research visit at IMCS in order to continue the collaboration and to extend our previous work towards more complex application scenarios.

This publication originated from the project “Multi-scale modelling of friction for large scale engineering problems” funded through the MIUR-DAAD Joint Mobility Program 2017. The project has been granted by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and by the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) through funds of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
