IMCS at "FE im Schnee" 2024

The Institute for Mathematics and Computer-Based Simulation (IMCS) once again participated in the annual conference "FE Im Schnee," held in the beautiful  Kleinwalsertal. The conference provides a platform for the exchange of knowledge and novel approaches in the field of the Finite Element Method and computer-based simulation.

The IMCS contributed two talks: "Multi-scale analysis of rough surface contact through FEM/BEM code coupling" and "Computational Modeling Approaches for Mechanical Metamaterials."

Besides the talks, participants enjoyed skiing on the snowy slopes of the Alps. Despite occasional wet weather conditions, skiing was a rewarding experience with excellently prepared slopes and even some deep powder runs.

We extend our gratitude to the Institute for Structural Mechanics at the University of Stuttgart, particularly Dr.-Ing. Malte von Scheven, for flawlessly organizing this conference.
