HAIPro-Lab

Human-centered, future-ready processes and workflows. A design challenge we are committed to addressing.

The Human-Centered AI and Process Management Lab (HAIPro-Lab) uses language-based AI and a human-centered approach to develop processes quickly, clearly, and effectively.

The HAIPro-Lab is part of the Chair of Information Systems, especially Digital Process Management, led by Prof. Christoph Peters.

What is it about?

Many organizations struggle with inefficient and non-transparent business and work processes, both digital and analog. The implementation of process improvements is further complicated by the fact that employees, as experts in their day-to-day work and as important sources of ideas for effective improvement measures, are often not sufficiently involved. This is exactly where the HAIPro-Lab comes in: as a place where human-centeredness and technological innovation are deliberately brought together to design and further develop processes in new ways. In moderated workshops, employees’ expertise and the possibilities of modern AI technologies are combined in four steps. This makes processes transparent, creates a shared understanding, and enables targeted improvements to be initiated efficiently.

Step 1

Step 1

Discussion of processes in natural language, supported by speech recognition and analysis as well as the real-time creation of corresponding process models.

Step 2

Step 2

Discussion of the AS-IS processes.

Step 3

Step 3

Discussion of the TO-BE processes and improvement potentials.

Step 4

Step 4

Documentation of results, including aligned AS-IS and TO-BE processes as well as participant-specific process descriptions.
