The revision of ISO/IEC 30136 has started!

Biometric Template Protection (BTP) remains a very important topic for operational biometric systems. The revision of ISO/IEC 30136 Performance testing of biometric template protection schemes has started, being Marta Gomez-Barrero the project's editor. This standard defines an evaluation methodology for accuracy, secrecy, and privacy of biometric template protection schemes. 

If you are involved, in any way (e.g., researcher, vendor, end-user) with this topic, please raise your voice and contribute as an expert through your national standardisation body! The working draft is freely available through ISO.

At BioML, we are looking forward to the integration of the unlinkability testing methodology.

We are looking for a PhD student in computer science on the topic of biometric template protection.The aim is to develop new algorithms to improve privacy protection in biometric recognition systems based on the state of the art in both biometric recognition (e.g. deep learning architectures) and modern cryptography (post-quantum cryptography, differential learning).
