Presentation at the ZFBS Congress 2025 in Kempten

On 24 September 2025, the research group participated in the ZFBS Congress in Kempten, which brought together experts from science, civil protection agencies and public administration to discuss current challenges in disaster resilience and emergency preparedness.

Ivo Baselt delivered a talk entitled “Do We Have a Trauma? Climate Change, Natural Hazards and the Role of Leadership in Civil Protection”. The presentation focused on the psychological and organisational challenges in dealing with increasing extreme events – and the importance of leadership and communication in strengthening resilience strategies.

The contribution was part of the AdaptNOW project (Interreg Alpine Space), which addresses climate change adaptation in alpine regions. More information about the project is available at AdaptNOW
