PhD opportunities in the field of Satellite Communications at Universität der Bundeswehr München

 

The Universität der Bundeswehr München is a leading research institution in the field of air and space research. With the Munich Center for Space Communications, the University hosts Germany’s largest and most versatile experimental satellite ground station and Over-The-Air test facility for next-generation SATCOM technologies. We are currently looking for highly motivated PhD students / doctoral candidates who are keen to be part of our research team. We are offering positions for PhD students (m/f) in the following fields:

  • Dynamic radio resource optimization solutions (including machine learning) for flexible digital payloads
  • Multi-antenna processing techniques for low orbit constellations and geostationary ultra-high throughput satellites
  • Low-complexity channel state acquisition schemes for satellite systems
  • Modelling and compensation of satellite RF impairments
  • Massive machine type communications in the internet of space
  • Seamless integration of terrestrial and satellite networks in 5G/6G infrastructures
