For an efficient and economic development of the technical systems of aerospace, their safe operation and their optimized use for the end user, methods, approaches and procedures of different disciplines from the natural sciences and engineering are necessary.

The research centre "Munich Integrated Research on Aerospace" serves as a competence centre for aeronautical applications, space applications and space use as well as systems technology for aircraft and spacecraft. The research strategy is based on the guiding themes of the "Munich Aerospace e.V." association: "Autonomous Flight Systems", "Safety in Orbit", "Geodetic Earth Observation" and "Advanced Aerospace Communication".
