Analysis for function extension by means of interphases between thermoplastics and thermosets

Motivation:

The work is concerned with research into interphases between thermoplastics and thermosets. The combination of these materials promises expanded utilization potential and new functionalities. Experimental investigations will be conducted to explore the properties of the interphases in order to identify potential applications in the automotive and aerospace industries. Students will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in materials research and to work on a highly topical subject. Under expert guidance, we offer a challenging and relevant research task.

Subject description:

The student research focuses on the analysis of interphases between thermoplastics and thermosets. Students will investigate the unique properties of both materials and experimentally explore how these interphases affect the behavior of the materials and the overall complex. The goal is to identify and evaluate the potential of interphases to enhance function. The work includes the development of test series and test methods to evaluate the resulting composites. The results may open up innovative perspectives for industry.
