Emilian Franco M.A.

Emilian Franco hat einen BA in Theater- und Medienwissenschaften sowie Politikwissenschaft von der Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg und einen MA in Interkultureller Kommunikation von der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, wo er derzeit als Doktorand eingeschrieben ist. In seiner Forschung führt er eine ethnographische Feldstudie in einem Labor für Künstliche Intelligenz (KI) in São Paulo, Brasilien, durch. Seine Forschungsinteressen orientieren sich am Verhältnis von Kultur, Natur und Technologie. Soziotechnologische Imaginationen von Menschen spielen dabei ebenso eine Rolle wie die wechselseitige Beeinflussung von Menschen, Maschinen und anderen, nicht direkt sichtbaren Akteuren (z.B. Algorithmen), die in weit verzweigten Netzwerken verbunden sind. Er forscht derzeit zudem im Kontext der Open-Source-Software Community und interessiert sich für post-qualitative Methoden.
