Digital platforms, decentralized value creation, etc.:
How do we expect to organize our lives and work in the future?

How we live and work has changed again and again over the past decades and centuries.  The 50th anniversary of the University of the Bundeswehr Munich would now be a good reason to look back at the last 50 years of the organization of work in society. However, the research initiative "INDOR" (Individual and Organization in the Digitalized Society) is taking the 50th anniversary of the University of the Bundeswehr as an opportunity to look ahead and ask the question: how do we want to organize our lives and our work in the future?

The starting point are findings of an increasingly digital coordination of actions based on the division of labor and an increasingly decentralized organization of value creation. This is associated with phenomena such as the platform economy, gig work, solo self-employment, and hybrid work. A distinguished panel will discuss and answer the question of how these phenomena will influence us and our working worlds in the future:

  • Janine Berg PhD is Senior Economist at the International Labour Organisation in Geneva and member of the Excellence Network in the Bruegel "Future of Work" project. She will give us important impulses on the topic via video.
  • Dr. Andreas Boes is an adjunct professor at the Technical University of Dortmund, director of the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation and a member of the board of ISF e.V. He is one of the pioneers of digitization research in Germany.
  • Dirk Henke is Managing Director DACH at MALT, a leading freelancing marketplace. He has 20 years of experience in the digital economy.
  • Anne Sander is a consultant, an expert in change & communication and a coach. After her time as a strategy consultant, she decided to offer her skills as a freelancer.
  • Dr. Frank Müller-Langer is Professor for Digital Transformation at the University of Bundeswehr Munich and Affiliated Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition. He is also a recognized expert on online labor markets.

To consider strategic, as well as organizational and individual aspects, the panel will be moderated by Prof.in Dr. Elisabeth Müller and Prof. Dr. Stephan Kaiser. The research initiative INDOR cordially invites to this panel with a view to the future and is looking forward to numerous internal and external guests.
