Subject: Using Large-Scale Video Game Telemetry Data to Research Human Multitasking

Professor: Prof. Wolfgang Mack / Dr. Marian Sauter, Maximilian Stefani, MSc Psych

Project dates: 1 January 2020 – 31 December 2021

Funding: In-house project

The purpose of the ongoing project is to examine the extent to which complex computer games can provide information that can be exploited when it comes to using digital workplaces (e.g. in finance, telemetric workstations), for example for working on several interdependent tasks and data streams (synchronous and sequential multitasking). The aim is to find out how training and the configuration of workplaces, tasks and software can help reduce or improve the cognitive load of multitasking.
