Project description:
This project involves the development of a second interactive model on natural hazards, designed as an educational tool for older students and youth groups in Northern Bavaria. Building on the first model created in 2021, it incorporates targeted technical improvements and is adapted more specifically to regional conditions. The aim is to communicate natural hazards such as flooding, high groundwater levels, drought, or rockfall, as well as protection and prevention measures, in a tangible and practical way. Through its interactive design, the model helps to visualise complex processes in natural hazard management and fosters active understanding of risk prevention and protective strategies in alpine and pre-alpine regions. The project combines engineering expertise with didactic principles and focuses on conveying environmental knowledge in the context of climate change. It is not only a tool for knowledge transfer but also promotes awareness among young people of local natural hazards and how to manage them effectively.
